Authority Levels & Privileges
In order to have control of your server in-game, you must first assign your GamerTag [XBOX] or PSN ID [PlayStation] to be an Owner in the Boot Commands. Go to the custom boot commands section, or the Console and enter:
OwnerID "Gamertag/PSNID" If your Gamertag or PSN ID has a space in the name, you need to put your name between "quotation marks".
If you set yourself as owner, you can't give any other role to yourself.
Keep in mind, Owners have all the permissions from Admins and Moderators.
User Tiers Explained
Our game server offers a tiered user system to provide a structured and customisable experience for different types of players and administrators.
Understanding these tiers will help you manage your server more effectively.
Tier 0 - User
Description
The User tier represents the standard player base.
These are members of the general public who play Rust.
Any player can become a User on your server, subject to the privacy settings you have configured.
Capabilities
Users can access and play on the server under the rules and conditions set by higher-tiered members.
They do not possess any special privileges or access rights.
Typical Use
Ideal for the vast majority of players who will interact with your server in a typical gameplay setting.
Tier 1 - VIP
Description
VIPs are a step above regular users.
This tier is ideal for players whom you wish to recognise or provide with a slightly enhanced experience.
Capabilities
VIPs do not have special in-game rights or permissions.
They have the ability to skip server queues, ensuring faster access even during peak times.
Typical Use
Suitable for friends, loyal players, or groups you want to encourage to frequently return to the server.
This tier helps build a dedicated community.
Tier 2 - Moderator
Description
Moderators are entrusted with maintaining a positive and fair gaming environment on the server.
Capabilities
They can enforce server rules, moderate communications, and have the authority to kick or temporarily ban disruptive players.
They cannot alter server settings or configurations.
Typical Use
Assign this role to trusted players or community members who can help manage day-to-day interactions and ensure a smooth gaming experience for all.
Tier 3 - Admin
Description
Admins have substantial control over the server and its settings.
They play a crucial role in managing the technical and gameplay aspects of the server.
Capabilities
Admins can modify server settings, manage user permissions, initiate server-wide events, and handle critical issues like cheating or bugs.
They also have the power to permanently ban players if necessary.
Typical Use
This role is typically reserved for those who are deeply involved in the server's operation, such as trusted community leaders or team members responsible for server management.
Tier 4 - Owner
Description
The Owner tier represents the highest level of control and access on the server.
Capabilities
Owners have full administrative rights, including server configuration, user management, and the ability to assign or revoke any roles.
They have the ultimate say in all decisions regarding the server.
Typical Use
This role is exclusively for the individual or group who owns and is responsible for the overall maintenance and direction of the server. Exercise caution when adding players (other than yourself) to this role.
